Chardons Amelie is a spacious, modern and beautifully designed ski and snowboard chalet in Val d’Isère offering excellent value holidays at cheap Chardons prices. The chalet is in Le Fornet right next to both the village centre and the ski lifts and slopes. The Le Fornet cable car is situated directly in front of the chalet. The chalet has a hot tub on the balcony with beautiful mountain views. All rooms are fully en-suite with attractive stone and wood used throughout. Revel in the Val d’Isère nightlife, just a short and free 10 minute shuttle-bus ride away, or enjoy the local atmosphere in Le Fornet’s own bars and restaurants. As with all our accommodation, this Val d’Isère chalet is great value and offers skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts a top-quality chalet holiday at unbeatable prices.

Chardons Amelie was built by the Bonnevie family in 2007 and offers an exceptional standard of accommodation in Val d’Isère. The living room has an open fire and comfortable sofas for après-ski drinks and the dining room area is large and airy with an open-plan kitchen and balcony overlooking the slopes. All rooms are en-suite with high levels of finish and tasteful décor throughout. Some rooms have south-facing balconies overlooking the pistes and the cable-car descending into Le Fornet, all of which use local wood, stone and furniture to enhance the chalet atmosphere. There is a private area for leaving skis and boots (with boot-warmer) plus usual chalet amenities. The chalet is run and catered by our own experienced staff, with meals being taken together in the large dining area for a great, convivial atmosphere, ideal for making new friends or just enjoying the company of your own group. As with all Chalet Chardons clients you will benefit from unbeatable deals on your ski and snowboard hire.

During your stay you will be looked after by your personal chalet team who will cook meals, clean the accommodation and ensure you have an enjoyable stay. The Chalet offers our premium chalet menu featuring a hearty breakfast each day with pastries and hot options, sumptuous home-made cake for afternoon tea and a delicious five-course evening meal served with quality French bottled wine on six nights. Enjoy extra touches such as a nightly cheese board and canapés with welcome drinks. See our Food & Drink tab on this page for more details.

With this addition to our range of ski and snowboard lodgings we are offering an alternative to our chalets in Tignes. Val d’Isère has a different atmosphere, is a larger and more vibrant town and has direct access to a different part of the world-famous Espace Killy Ski Area. The chalet benefits from the great atmosphere, fun staff, informal environment that all our chalets have plus the same great value holiday prices. With and access to our knowledgeable reps who will be able to organise your skiing and snowboarding holiday needs.

Access to the lifts can be either by walking straight from the front door down to the slopes in less than 2 minutes or via the free and very frequent shuttle buses that run to the middle of Val d’Isère if you want to directly get to another part of the Espace Killy.

Val d’Isère needs little or no introduction to seasoned ski and snowboard enthusiasts. The resort is located at the head of the Isere Valley at 1860 metres and enjoys exceptional snow conditions and challenging skiing conditions all serviced by a world-class lift system that whisks you to the top of the mountain. Queues are so rare as to be a talking point if they do happen and this is one of the best places in the world to engage a guide and get in some serious off-piste action. Beginners are not left out with plenty of free lifts on the nursery slopes in Val d’Isère, the top of the Solaise bowl and the runs down from the Col de l’Iseran offering more relaxed cruising. Chalet Amelie is located right opposite the Fornet cable car which takes you straight up towards the Grand Vallon and Pissaillais Glaciers or you can take the frequent and free shuttle bus towards Val d’Isère and get the Olympique or Solaise Express lifts up from there.

Eating out is a great Val d’Isère experience. For those wanting five-star dining the Michelin Star Table de l’Ours or the Hotel Christiana are great options. More modest budgets are well taken care of with excellent restaurants such as the 1789 for open-fire cooked steaks, the Fondue Factory for local cuisine, Victor’s for nouvelle cuisine, or the many pizza and local produce restaurants dotted around the village. You won’t be stuck for choice… In addition there are several excellent boulangeries that also make sandwiches and pastries to take away.

Nightlife is famous in Val d’Isère. The Folie Douce is known as the ‘Ibiza of the Alps’ with pumping dance music and partying every day on the slopes from around 3pm (if that’s your thing) until the lifts close. After this finishes you are then spoilt for choice with well-known venues such as the Saloon, Dick’s Tea Bar, Morris Pub, Victor’s, Bananas and dozens of other places.

The chalet is very roomy and arranged over four floors. All bedrooms can be configured as twin or double rooms and all benefit from an en-suite bathroom with WC. Some rooms have a bath and balcony. There is a lounge/TV area on the first floor with a beautiful sunny balcony and a large dining area on the second floor with open-plan kitchen where meals are taken. The sleeping areas are on the top floor and the lower floors with the living areas between the two. Access to the chalet is via an underground tunnel leading directly to the road with a security keypad that runs via the ski and boot storage room.

The chalet sleeps up to 25 people in a range of rooms with all meals served in the chalet and prepared by our highly experienced staff in the kitchen.

If the whole chalet is booked by one group, the 24th and 25th beds are free of charge.

Your chalet staff will deal with all aspects of your holiday such as ski-hire, passes and helping out with booking restaurants for chalet night off, ski lessons and other resort services. Chalet Amelie is available from late November till early May.

Chalet Amelie is available for rent either exclusively for larger groups or on a room-by-room basis. Our prices listed are per person per week for catered accommodation in the chalet. Prices vary according to the season, contact the UK booking line or by email for a quote.
