About Les Houches

Le Houches ski area:
Famous for the Chamonix / Kandahar World Cup downhill race, Les Houches is much more than just a World Cup ski area. Tree line skiing and magnificent views of the Chamonix Valley below, and the Mont Blanc Massif above, this really is a great area for all abilities and perfect for families. Off-piste it’s the perfect practice ground, whether skiing from the top of the Prarion mountain or tracking through the trees.

Brevent ski area:
A must ski / snowboard area for its sunshine and challenging pistes. The Bozon is a must for the advanced skier and snowboarder, not only for the view across the Chamonix Valley , but for the 'serious challenge' it presents. Off-piste consists of the Col and steep couloirs. Check out the couloirs below the Plan Praz cable-car on the way up which surprisingly do get skied and frequented by snowboarders! With a selection of reds and blues, and being south facing this is also a great place for intermediates.

Flegere ski area:
South facing it has a variety of runs to suit all abilities and some stunning views across the mountain at the Mont Blanc. With a good selection of green, blue, red, and black runs, it is particularly popular with families. Off-piste it’s quite a favourite with skiers and snowboarders. Whilst steep, it benefits from some great off-piste runs that are wide (e.g. Combe Lachenal) and in the right conditions are 'picture perfect'.

Le Tour ski area:
A haven for beginners and intermediates, with less demanding slopes and gradients than other areas in the valley. Off-piste is mainly through the trees and there are some great drops into Vallorcine for expert skiers.

Vallorcine ski area:
Many now combine a morning ski in Le Tour and then pop over into Vallorcine by the Swiss border. With its tree line skiing and a truly authentic mountain village it feels in many respects like you are taking a step back in time. Off-piste it offers some great couloirs and gullies for the off-piste skier.

The Vallee Blanche - ski piste back country:
For intermediates and advanced skiers, a visit to Chamonix would not be complete without a trip down the Vallée Blanche with a Mountain Guide. 17km long and a descent of 2,800m, it offers spectacular scenery with peaks shaped liked needles, snow bridges crossing crevasses, seracs and fresh powder on its variant routes.

Summer in Chamonix:
Mont Blanc Guides are the specialists in all inclusive guided Mont Blanc ascent weeks. Unlike many operators, Mont Blanc Guides focus solely on the ascent to Mont Blanc and with over 20 years of experience and local knowledge, they are able to achieve significantly high success rates for a variety of walkers and climbers.

During the summer and in partnership with Mont Blanc Guides, Chamonix Exclusive provides exclusive accommodation for clients of Mont Blanc Guides at Chalet Prarion and are not open to the general public between June and September.

Providing you are fit and strong, have a good head for heights, and a drive to climb Europe’s highest Western peak, then why not combine a stay at one of Chamonix Valley’s premier chalets, with a once in a lifetime event climbing the 4,807m majestic white peak.

Mont Blanc Guides have an excellent track record, providing the safest and most enjoyable mountaineering experience. The course and ascent is attempted over a six day period providing climbers with a reasonable window to train and acclimatise in order to maximise the chance of success.

Courses run from Wednesday to Tuesday with 2/3 nights spent at Chalet Prarion in its luxurious and spacious accommodation. There are 5 bedrooms accommodating up to 10 guests and our beds can be arranged as twins or doubles. Towels and linen are provided for use within the chalet.
