From the ground floor up the chalet includes a heated garage/tech room for storage of all your winter hardware and bikes. Kitted out with seating, hooks and hangers the garage creates the perfect space for getting ready for the days activities. The first of four bedrooms is also situated on the ground floor, along with an en-suite bathroom and power shower

On the second floor two more bedrooms are located, one twin and one double, a bathroom with shower/bath and the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials to eat in including an oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is also access out onto the balcony and furnished patio/garden area. About Morzine

Morzine is a charming and traditional ski resort located on the French Swiss border in prime position to access the immense Porte du Soleil ski area. ncompassing 3 valleys, across 2 countries, this vast nature reserve has a total of 650 km of high altitude piste, linking 12 resorts and 14 villages – and all accessed with just one ski pass. Morzine, as one of the larger resorts in the Porte du Soleil ski area, has long been popular amongst skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers and hikers of all skill levels and still retains a lot of its Haute Savoie charm. The town has a huge array of restaurants, bars, shops, sports facilities and entertainment making your stay in Morzine just as exciting off the slopes. Hope fully this section of the website will give you a brief introduction to the town and surrounding area and show you what is on offer in this often overlooked resort.

Other places close by:

Lac de Montriond – 7.5km
On the back road up to Avoriaz, across the valley from the chalet, is the hamlet of Montriond. The village itself is nice but more of a thoroughfare for traffic to and from Morzine. But take a trip up to the nearby lake and you won’t be disappointed. Lac de Montriond is a large mountain lake hemmed in on all sides by vast cliffs. In summer it really comes into its own and is great for swimming. There is even a small kids pool built in to the end of the lake. It is a welcome end to many a summers bike ride or walk and on sunny day it’s worth the trip. There are footpaths all around and a number of cafe’s dotted around it’s edge. If you venture round the lake and a bit further up the valley you will find lovely mountain waterfall. It is also worth a visit in winter when the lake is frozen solid and everywhere is covered in ice and snow. They also offer ice diving – if you are brave enough!

AVORIAZ – 10km
Avoriaz is the Partner town to Morzine and if you intend to ski the Portes du Soleil you will inevitably find yourself up there. It is 10km by the winding road up the valley or a short bus ride from the centre of town to the Prodains cable car. There is also the well used link via the Super Morzine lift that is open in both Winter and Summer. Avoriaz is a purpose built resort with interesting wood clad architecture. In it’s hay day it was know as the “Saint Tropez de Neige” but now it is less exclusive. Unless you are staying up there Avoriaz can feel a little soul-less with Morzine offering a more cultural Savoir experience but there are, however, activities that may tempt you there. Snowmobile hire and horse drawn sleighs in the car free resort would be good for those not skiing. In the summer there are some fantastic walks and views as well as a golf course. And don’t forget that in Summer the resort opens for mountain bikers and walkers with most of the lifts in the PDS open.

Les Lindarets – 13km
If you carry on up the valley from Montriond you will arrive at Les Lindarets, or as we, and many of our guests, know it “Goat Village”. This moniker is for one simple and probably quite obvious reason – There are goats, everywhere! In summer bike or walk through this village and there is a good chance your path will be blocked by tens, if not hundreds, of goats. With all the cafes and restaurants it is worth making this a lunch stop. You can also buy bags of goat feed and have a laugh at how cheeky some of the beasts can be. They are still there in winter although many people whizz past Lindarets on their way down to the Ardent car park and Telecabin.

There is much much more in the local area. Just ask us and we can recommend all sorts of activities.
