Paradiski (consisting of Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne resorts) is recommended for all standards of skiing from Beginner to Advanced. The resort offers a wide variety of slopes with moguls, off-piste and a snow park where all are welcome. Paradiski provides some of the Alps’ best skiing and snowboarding and we can guarantee you won’t get bored.
Internationally renowned for its architecture and a pioneer of newschool snow sports, Les Arcs is the most avant-garde of the resorts. Spread over 5 sites, this is a destination that allows you to mix sporting activities with a lavish lifestyle and a host of cultural delights.
Peisey-Vallandry encompasses 5 Savoie villages that cultivate the Alpine way of life. This authentic village resort, perched at an altitude 1,600 m, is located by a forest on the sunniest face of the Les Arcs massif and provides an unforgettable view of the Mont Blanc, Beaufortain and Tarentaise ranges.
La Plagne: Facing Mont Blanc, La Plagne is an assembly of 10 resorts, all of which can be reached on skis. Each of them has a different atmosphere and personality (6 high-altitude resorts and 4 village resorts). La Plagne is known for its great diversity and unique activities. It is the only resort in France to have an Olympic bobsleigh run and an artificial Ice Tower.
The Vanoise Express connects Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne in just 4 minutes. This ultramodern cable car is equipped with two panoramic double-decker gondolas, which operate independently thanks to their separate cable systems. Holding up to 200 people each, the Express is capable of transporting 2,000 passengers per hour in each direction!
There are plenty of activities for non skiers in the area. There is so much to do and see whilst staying in Peisey Vallandry and the Paradiski area.
Simply go exploring yourself or ask us and we would be happy to show you around, both on and off the slopes, so you can get your bearings. So for those who want to do something other than skiing or boarding why not try dog sledding in the National Vanoise Park, or choose from many of the other activities on offer.
Ice climbing at Champagny le Haut (La Plagne):
Get an introduction to ice climbing or advanced instruction on an artificial ice tower 22 metres high. This is the only one of its kind in Europe, located at the doors of the Vanoise National Park, it can’t get more exciting than this. Over 26 routes for beginners (12yrs & over), intermediate climbers and professionals alike. For experienced climbers: daily sessions - €6.50 per session. Open from mid-December to the end of February (depending on ambient temperatures).
Speed Flying at Les Arcs:
Speed Flying, a cross between skiing and paragliding, is the latest thing for all those looking for unique and intense thrills. Speed Flying is accessible to skiers with a red-piste level of ability.
Biathlon at Peisey-Vallandry, concentration & self-control:
A combination of cross-country skiing and shooting. Discover this sport at the permanentshooting range, supervised by professionals from the ESF ski school. Price €76 per person for 1 ½ hours (equipment hire included).
Bobsleigh at La Plagne, Macot:
For a thrilling experience that is unique only to France, shoot down the 1.5 kilometre Olympic bobsleigh run! Special rates for families and groups.
Ski joering in Les Arcs:
Originally from Scandinavia, ski joering is a thrilling return to an age-old tradition. Sign up for a truly unique horse-drawn skiing experience. Paradiski is the only ski area in Europe to have special ski joering courses (12 km of trails). For ages 6 and over. Price: €50 per person (3-hour session).
Dog sledding at Paradiski:
Discovering Paradiski’s natural areas by dog sled is a wonderful experience magnified by the beauty of the landscape. A stunning outing punctuated by a snack break. Price: starting from €60 for a 2-hour trip.
Spas and Treatments:
Need to relax? Why not try one of the spas in the resort. We can point you in the right direction for a well earned bit of pampering offered by both the Club Med in Vallandry, and the Vanoise Hotel in Plan Peisey.
If you can’t even face leaving the chalet, then help is at hand as we can arrange for you to have a massage right in the comfort of your own room. Massage Me come highly recommended and can be booked in advance or when you arrive in the resort. Treatments range from Swedish massage to hot stones, as well as sports massage for anyone who has been working that little bit too hard on the slopes.
