of being on top of the world, even first thing in the morning! The BIRD’S VIEW
apartment has a spacious living area, two separate bedrooms (one with direct access
to the balcony), a single room and three bathrooms – plenty of space to unwind. And,
of course, it also comes with a fully equipped kitchen and a sofa bed.

region, Niedernsill is just the place. Peace, pristine nature and authenticity still reign
sovereign here. The nearby tourist hubs are just a few minutes away via public
transport, bike or your own car. The breathtaking mountain landscape of the High
Tauern and the Kitzbühel Alps is almost close enough to touch here. Zell am See,
Kaprun and Kitzbühel are just a stone’s throw away. However, Niedernsill is the more
sedate side of the Pinzgau area, making it a much more relaxing place for your

A family holiday: Summer in Niedernsill
Niedernsill is the perfect place for a family holiday. One of the highlights is
undoubtedly the natural swimming lake, where sweeping sunbathing lawns,
children’s paddling pools and a recreational complex with hydrotherapy pools,
volleyball, minigolf, football, skatepark and children’s play area promise fun and
relaxation for people of all ages. Enjoy a stroll around the adjoining ‘Luzia-Lacke’, a
protected nature reserve where you can observe the native plants and wildlife. With
its expansive sunbathing meadows, it is a real draw for keen swimmers young and
old. The neighbouring protected landscape area known as ‘Luzia-Lacke’ is perfect for
strolling around and spotting the native wildlife. An archery facility is also located
beside the natural swimming lake. It offers taster courses for beginners, while
advanced bowmen can also show off their skills on the archery course.
Winter in Niedernsill:
In winter, Niedernsill really comes into its own as the quintessential charming alpine
village. The dreamlike winter landscape is an astonishing sight, while also offering a
unique winter experience. Whether it’s a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride, highoctane sledding, gently gliding along on a cross-country ski route or embarking on a
long winter walk, perhaps on snowshoes, Niedernsill offers a wealth of options that
are just waiting to be discovered. Winter holidays in the Alps don’t get much more
idyllic than this!
Skiing in Niedernsill and Piesendorf:
Right on the doorstep, the Niedernsill ski resort has a 1 km piste for skiing and
snowboarding. Guests are transported via two tow lifts. This winter sports resort is
set between 838 and 985 m high in the mountains. It offers varied, levelled terrain,
making it ideal for beginners and families who love skiing. Ski courses are offered at
The Nagelköpfl–Piesendorf ski resort (5 mins’ drive) is also very close by. Beginners
and intermediate skiers are well catered for, with 2.5 kilometres of pistes. The winter
sports resort is set between 785 and 900 m high in the mountains.
Nagelköpfl adventure mountain
The Naglköpfl is a striking hill between Piesendorf and Niedernsill. It can be
accessed via Piesendorf, or you can also hike over from Niedernsill. With its plethora
of recreational options, the Naglköpfl really comes into its own as an ‘adventure
mountain’ in winter. The floodlit toboggan run is a particular highlight, providing

superb winter fun. The fun toboggan run on the Naglköpfl is a comfortable, safe
alternative: the toboggans have integrated brakes and a bracket that allows you to
hang the toboggan onto the tow lift with ease.
Visitors to the Naglköpfl can also enjoy snow tubing and a one-man bob. In other
words, it’s all set up to offer plenty of fun to visitors of all ages.
ACTIVE RECREATION & THE WIDER REGION
Skiing at Austria’s top ski resorts
Niedernsill’s splendid setting allows quick access to some of the best ski resorts in
the Alps. This means that our ALPINE VIEW APARTMENTS make an ideal base for
skiers for whom one ski resort isn’t enough!
KAPRUN – KITZSTEINHORN GLACIER AND MAISKOGEL:
The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier ski resort offers perfect snow conditions from October to
May and is one of the most popular glacier resorts in Austria. The ski runs go up to a
height of 3,029 metres and offer varied terrain with an authentic glacier feel over a
stretch of 42 km. The long-awaited connection between Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn
will also be finished in time for winter 2019/20. Once it is complete, the connection
will allow you to reach the glacier directly from the centre of Kaprun.
ZELL AM SEE – SCHMITTEN:
Schmitten in Zell am See is an absolute El Dorado for skiers who appreciate a
leisurely approach. The entrance is a 15-minute drive from the areitXpress in Zell am
See. Varied ski terrain stretches over almost 80 kilometres of pistes that are ideal for
families and more advanced skiers alike. Schmitten is all about making skiing a
pleasurable experience. What’s more, its views are simply unparalleled within the
Alps! From winter 2019/20, two zellamseeXpress services will connect it with
Viehhofen and thus the nearby Glemmtal. This also provides a seamless connection
between Schmitten and the Ski Circus of Saalbach-Hinterglemm-LeogangFieberbrunn. And best of all, from this winter, Kitzsteinhorn, Schmitten and the Ski
Circus can be accessed with a joint ski pass, the AlpinCard. That’s 408 kilometres of
pistes with a single pass!
KITZBÜHEL – KITZSKI:
The KitzSki ski resort is also easy to reach from Niedernsill, via the Resterhöhe in
Mittersill (15 minutes away). Some 230 kilometres of pistes and an exclusive feel
await skiers in Kitzbühel-Kirchberg! From the legendary strip to the sunlit slopes of
the Resterhöhe, this spot has everything the skier could desire!
UTTENDORF - WEISSSEE GLETSCHERWELT
The Weißsee Glacier Ski Resort lies at the head of the Stubach valley. It has 23
kilometres of mostly easy to intermediate pistes and is a real insiders’ secret for
skiing away from the crowded slopes. Its setting high in the alps makes it particularly
popular with backcountry and off-piste skiers. It is not unusual for the winter season
there to last well into April, on account of its altitude.
SAALBACH-HINTERGLEMM-LEOGANG-FIEBERBRUNN SKI CIRCUS:
The Ski Circus has been a byword for top skiing for years. Snow-lovers can look
forward to 270 kilometres of pistes that run between Salzburg and Tirol. From
Niedernsill or Schmitten, travelling to the Ski Circus takes roughly 30 minutes
