Vanthier IV is a warm and fabulous well managed chalet, which has been finished to a very high standard as you can see from the images. Sleeping a max of 8 the chalet has 4 ensuite bedrooms and a large open plan kitchen / dining room / living room, with the most amazing view of the valley. The bedrooms can be made up as either 4 queen bedrooms, 3 queens and one twin or 2 queens and 2 twin bedrooms, with the bathrooms offering 2 with showers and two with baths, plus their own WC.
The chalet offers a lovely mix of old reclaimed wood, enhancing the chalets ambiance and complimented with modern touches such as high spec bathrooms and classy kitchen. Underfloor heating throughout and a wood burning fire as well adds even more to the chalets unique ambiance. The living space is very spacious so you are not on top of one another and is definitely a great place for a group of friends, or two families wanting to enjoy a ski holiday in more comfortable surroundings.
Access to the slopes is very easy as the chalet is about 30 metres away from the free ski bus stop on Rue de Villaret, which takes you to nearest slopes in just a few minutes. The chalet also has parking for 2 cars if driving here. Should you decide to book the chalet our recommendation is to hire ski lockers in Meribel, these being right underneath one of the main gondolas in the Meribel Chaudanne area. This means in the morning you can travel to Meribel in your normal footwear, change into you ski equipment and off you go. Just makes it all easy with little faffing around.
After skiing, you would change back into your footwear and either go back to the chalet or go for a wander around Meribel, have an apres drink or two, or maybe go swimming or ice skating, which is a great option if you have children. The lockers cost around 50 euros for the week and can take 3 skis and boots per locker and 70 euros for a bigger locker to take 4 skis and boots. The ski locker room is very well heated and there are heated boot warmers for all the boots in the lockers, so all nice, dry and warm ready for the next days exploits.
The chalet is located right by Rue de Villaret, in Vanthier, which is a delightful, small village of individual chalets, placed just below Meribel centre and it takes no time at all to either hop on the free ski bus or take the car to the centre of town. Its possible to ski back for most of the season down a red run (with just a little walk at the end to get to the chalet). So if you are looking for a beautiful chalet in a quiet and idyllic location but still very close to all the action, then this really could be the chalet for you.
As regards where to eat if you don't want to "cook in" then we are happy to recommend a few restaurants though this chalet is one of a number now we can offer with flexible catering, meaning its possible to book the chalet on a catered half board basis, a semi catered basis where your meals are pre cooked and delivered or lastly you can book it on a completely self catered basis. The choice is yours with the chalet bookable for arrival and departure on any Saturday.
