Directly in Mauterndorf - St. Michael is the Skischaukel Grosseck/Speiereck/Mauterndorf ski area with 50 perfectly groomed slopes, 10 lifts, alpine and cross-country skiing as well as hiking opportunities to the summit of the Speiereck. There are also more than 30 cross-country ski trails in the region. Other well-known ski areas in the immediate vicinity can be found in Obertauern, Fanningberg and Katschberg.
In summer, the Lungau also has a lot to offer for active holidaymakers. You can hike, play golf and enjoy the many mountain bike trails. There is pure bathing fun in the Mauterndorf adventure pool, at Trogalmsee or at Schlierersee.
There are plenty of shopping options for your daily needs right in town, as well as a good selection of restaurants.
