Description
Chalet Alexia is a 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom beautifully designed chalet close to the lift & village. Having stayed in many chalets in the past we had some fairly clear criteria in building it; room for two families but with own sense of space, powerful showers and absolutely no queuing for the bathroom, comfortable beds and crisp white sheets, big table for long dinners, board games and cards, huge log fire and sofa's you don't want to leave, spoilt for choice with books, DVDs and games, a cot, high chair and toys, close to Geneva, walking distance from the lift, large and varied ski terrain. We’re pretty pleased with our second home and hope you love it too.
Living and playing
Built in 2012, the chalet accommodates ten people in luxurious comfort. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the lower floor and two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the upper floor. In the middle floor is a wonderful double height living / dining / kitchen area with a big open stone fireplace. Large windows look across the valley and open onto the spacious balcony and terrace. Facing the dining table, the large cooking island is the perfect spot for the social cook. The kitchen is well equipped with all mod-cons such as a Nespresso coffee machine, conventional and microwave oven, dishwasher and American fridge. There are also two high chairs for the kids. Overlooking the living area, the mezzanine has an iMac computer and WiFi, IPOD docking station, widescreen blue ray TV and Wii and the chalet is well stocked with books, dvd's, toys and games providing varied entertainment for all ages.
Relaxing and sleeping
If it's peace and quite you're after then the sauna is the place to relax. And ensuring a good night’s sleep, comfortable boxspring beds are made-up for your arrival with crisp percale cotton sheets Most beds can be arranged as either twin or double to suit your needs. Soft bathrobes, hairdryers and large towels complete the focus on quality and comfort. For those holidaying with small children a travel cot and linen is available.
Sking and boarding
The ski room has plenty of room for you to store your ski’s, snowboards, boots, jackets, hats and gloves!
Useful to know
Underfloor heating runs throughout the chalet. The utility room has washing / drying / ironing facilities.

During the 60 days before arrival, if new government COVID-19 rules block the vacation, for example a requirement to quarantine either during the vacation or on return home, or a restriction in the number of people who can meet together in La Tzoumaz, or a forced closure of the whole ski area related to COVID-19, then we would offer a full refund providing that the vacation is cancelled within 14 days of the new rules being announced.
Rates are inclusive of firewood, end of stay cleaning, linen, towels, sauna towels, bathrobes. Prices are exclusive of local tourist taxes which are payable on arrival in the village. The price is 2.50 CHF per adult (16y+) per night and 1.25 CHF per child (6 to 15y) per night. Under 6 is free.
A refundable damage deposit of CHF 1000 is reserved on your credit card upon check into the chalet.

About La Tzoumaz
La Tzoumaz, on the other side of the crest from Verbier, is a quiet family focused resort amidst the wonderful skiing of the four valleys. The village has a small natural ice-rink, outdoor tennis court, indoor swimming pool, playground, creche, 12km winter hiking trails and 13km snowshoe trails. Additionally in the Riddes valley there are beautiful thermal baths, historic towns and wineries to visit. A handful of restaurants are within walking distance of the chalet including one who can deliver a catered dinner for the evening. The village also has a newsagent, baker, PROXI supermarket for essential provisions, cash machine and of course the compulsory ski-hire / bike-hire shops.

A skiers paradise
Set at the 4 Vallées, La Tzoumaz offers you an extraordinary skiing paradise. The resort has 40km of piste on snow-sure north facing slopes where it is possible to ski until the end of April. In just nine minutes, the La Tzoumaz telecabin takes you to the top of Savolyeres, 2,354 meters above sea level, where a wide variety of ski tows, chair lifts and cable-cars, provide connections to other resorts in the 4 Valleys region. Together with Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, La Tzoumaz form one of the largest ski areas in Switzerland offering over 400 km of runs and 100 lift installations. With a length of 10 km and a difference of 848 min altitude, La Tzoumaz’s famous toboggan run is extremely long and fairly fast!. Tobogganing events are held each Friday and Saturday full moon in January, February and March including fondue at the mountain restaurant in Savoleyres. Heli skiing is available at Croix de Coeurs, the alpine peak located between La Tzoumaz and Verbier.
Summer too...
La Tzoumaz is a perfect base for walking and hiking in the Valais with 150 kilometres of sign-posted trails. Summer guests can stroll through the forests and meadows and take in an alpine lunch or visit the nearby summits of Pierre Avoire and Mont Fort. Within 15 minutes: Swimming Golf: Verbier is a 25 minute drive via the summer road and offers a beautiful 18 hole golf course at an altitude of 1600 meters. Each hole provides stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges, Combin, Rogneux and Mont-Blanc. Mountain Biking: The 8 seater telecabin takes you from La Tzoumaz to the top of Savolyeres where graded tracks for all abilities give you access to the alpine pastures. The purpose built downhill courses in the Verbier / La Tzoumaz Bike Park caters for those seeking additional adrenaline! And if this is not enough, there is also the 125km Grand Raid Route that passes through La Tzoumaz. Perraudin Sports close to the telecabine can support you with all your biking needs. Tennis: The outdoor tennis court is a five minute walk from the chalet and can be booked through the La Tzoumaz tourist office. Wine Tasting
Paragliding: Croix de Coers between Verbier and La Tzoumaz is one of the four popular takeoff zones for this exciting sport. Swimming: There is a small indoor pool in La Tzoumaz with an outside sunbathing area. A 25 minute drive from the chalet, the thermal hot baths in Saillon offer indoor and outdoor hot baths, swimming pools, a riverpool, Jacuzzis, steam rooms and saunas. In summer they have a water slide, grass play area with trampolines and games. It is a beautiful place to unwind and relax in summer or winter. A 40 minute drive from the chalet is Les Iles de Sion. Here you can swim in a turquoise coloured lake, sunbathe on the edge of the lake, play min golf, ride the mini train or even have a go at bungy trampolining. Watersports In Villeneuve, a 45 minute drive from the chalet, you can hire a variety of boats from pedalos and kayaks to motor boats with ski equipment and catamarans. This is a wonderful way to enjoy the scenery of the Alps. Fishing: You can go for River fishing in the Lac des Vaux which is located 2500 metres above Verbier. |
