Tignes Ski Holiday
Tignes ski resort is without doubt one of the top ski resorts in Europe. It is linked to Val d’Isere ski resort to form the huge Espace Killy ski area. The combination of snow sure skiing on the Grande Motte glacier and over 300km of ski pistes makes Tignes a top destination for your ski holiday in France.
Tignes is one of the highest ski resorts in the Alps which guarantees snow conditions even late in the ski season. Tignes ski domain is really made up of 5 different areas. Tignes le Lavachet, Tignes Le Lac and Val Claret are the main sections higher up the mountains with the villages of Les Brevieres and Les Boisse located lower down in the Tarentaise valley. With quick links to Val d’Isere and the Espace Killy right on your doorstep there is acres of skiing for all abilities.
Tignes has a huge selection of groomed pistes as well as lots of off piste areas. Regardless of you skiing level you will find something interesting in Tignes. For those skiers and boarder who like to eat up the miles you can do a full tour across the Espace Killy area from Le Fornet, to Val d’Isere and back to Tigne Les Brevieres. The area also boasts plenty of wide pistes and open bowls which will suit intermediates skiers and snowboarders. For the more extreme heli-skiing is available to access the remote couloirs and free ride areas. Don’t miss the Lavachet Wall if you are looking for extreme vertical drops. The Grande Motte glacier even provides skiing in summer.
