Description
Ideal for two families who want to holiday together in contemporary alpine comfort, Chalet Galbert combines privacy with fantastic living spaces to be together. With stunning south-facing views of the mountain and valley and situated only three minutes walk from the lift station, you could not get a better location.
The chalet is split over three floors and all our double rooms have a super king size beds. On the top floor sits the master bedroom with south-facing balcony and en-suite bathroom, a large double bedroom with south-facing balcony, a children's bunk room that can sleep up to 3 with a small balcony and a shared bathroom.
The extensive middle floor is exclusively devoted to maximising the views from the beautifully appointed sitting room/dining room/kitchen. Open plan, and stretching over the entire building, this stunning room has four south-facing French doors leading onto its own private, south-facing balcony. On the north face there is a main entrance door, from the courtyard, with access into the kitchen area. The seating area has an extensive corner sofa, two arm chairs and a contemporary wood-burner. The long dining table seats 10 in comfort and the kitchen is designed for ease of use.
The bottom floor has two double bedrooms (which can be made up as super king size beds or split into twin beds), a well-appointed shared bathroom, hallway with ski boot heaters and utility facilities of a washing machine and tumble dryer. Immediately and conveniently outside the door is the ski locker.
Infront of the groundfloor immediately outside the chalet there are a couple of parking spaces as well as a drop off area by the front door. Fortunately Vaujany has plenty of free parking close by for extra cars (much of it underground) and we can direct you it on arrival.

For larger groups you can take Chalet Galbert and La Petite Cabin together for groups of 12-13, or extend further by taking Les Cousins too allowing groups of up to 18-20. The chalets are cleverly designed to be taken individually or together to become one unit.

Vaujany is a rather secret and unique alpine village with state of the art facilities. Located at the centre of the Oisans, Vaujany has its own beautifully-maintained pistes and is linked to the huge ski area of Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine. The village retains its charming authentic roots with vegetable gardens and chickens roaming safely in quiet corners.
Situated at a height of 1250m, facing the Massif des Grandes Rousses, a fast 160 person cable car, only a few minutes walk from our chalets, whisks you into the heart of a ski area with more than 250kms of prepared pistes, including the fantastic Sarenne - the LONGEST BLACK RUN IN EUROPE. Vaujany is rare in that it is ideal for mixed abilities with advanced and varied off piste skiing easily accessible. At the top of the Montfrais bubble, in the Vaujany ski area, ESF’s ski school sits a stone's throw from comfortable restaurants and fun practice runs for little ones.
Many enjoy summer in Vaujany as much as winter with fantastic access to mountain biking, climbing, treetop surfing, kayaking and other outdoor activities in the fresh, alpine air with meadow flowers at your feet.
Vaujany is a compact resort easily accessible by foot and car with lots of free parking. For pedestrians the resort is brilliantly linked by a series of escalators and lifts taking you from top to bottom of the village in minutes.

The Skiing in Vaujany/Oz & the Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine
Thanks to continuous investment over the last 20 years, Vaujany has developed a ski area which includes snow canons covering all pistes, which ensures good skiing throughout the season.
From Vaujany you have access to the Massif des Grandes Rousses, the ski resort of Alpe d’Huez and surrounding resorts of Auris-en-Oisans, Huez-en-Oisans, Oz-en-Oisans and Villard Reculas. The Alpe d’Huez ‘Grand Domaine’ offers world-class skiing and is the 5th largest ski area in France. Highlights include Pic Blanc, the area's highest peak, at 3,300m, from where you can ski the longest black run in Europe, the world famous Sarenne (16km).
The vast ski area includes 248km of marked pistes and 900 snow cannons which, along with the high altitude of the resort, ensures good ski conditions throughout the season. For beginners and experienced skiers alike this offers ideal leisure and high performance skiing.

Discovering Vaujany with children of mixed ages, including babies in tow, we have been impressed by the facilities. This is especially true for the nursery ‘La Garderie’ which has transformed our holidays. The staff speak reasonable English and the Garderie is conveniently situated close to the main lift-station making drop-offs and pick-ups easy and efficient to tie in with skiing. The Garderie, featuring a nursery and a kid's club, was awarded the ‘Famille Plus Montagne' award and we can see why - children and parents love it alike. Immaculately kept, with incredibly attentive care, the Garderie certainly warrants the fantastic reputation it has won. The care and dedication given by the Vaujany ESF surpasses many previous experiences of ESF in other resorts. Over 25 years the Vaujany ESF team has established a fantastic reputation for quality teaching and happy clients. Ski school is on offer as well as tailored individual lesson |
