Chalet Castor is a spacious catered ski chalet in Les Coches, La Plagne, sleeping up to 19 guests in 8 ensuite bedrooms. Set directly on the piste, the chalet offers genuine ski-in/ski-out access, making it easy to get onto the slopes each morning and return home at the end of the ski day.
The chalet has 8 comfortable ensuite bedrooms, with a mixture of double, twin and family rooms suitable for families and larger groups. Each ensuite bathroom has a bath or shower, with towels, dressing gowns and Molton Brown bathroom products provided for your stay.
At the heart of Chalet Castor is a large dining room seating up to 20 guests, where your professional chalet chef prepares your catered meals. Two comfortable lounges and a separate TV room provide plenty of space for a large group to relax together – or spread out after a day on the mountain.
Outside, the private hot tub is the perfect place to relax while enjoying views towards Mont Blanc. Inside, guests can unwind in the private 6-person sauna or gather around the traditional open fireplace.
With its piste-side location, spacious accommodation and private hot tub and sauna, Chalet Castor is particularly well suited to families, groups of friends and larger ski parties looking for a catered chalet in Les Coches and the wider La Plagne and Paradiski ski area.

Paradiski Ski Area
Connecting the La Plagne and Les Arcs Ski areas together has created Frances second largest linked ski area with 425 KM of marked pistes with 70% of all skiing over 2000m. Icebreaker Chalets are located in the heart of the area with only only lift needed to get to the famous Vanoise Express lift that connects the two resorts.
Les Coches
The village of Les Coches is situated in the centre of the Paradiski Ski area with only one lift giving access to the famous Vanoise Express cable car that effortlessly takes you over to Les Arcs. With plenty of long treelined blue runs leading back into Les Coches its a paradise for any level of skier.
Paradiski has skiing for every level of skier and with its two glaciers you have a huge amount of different locations to choose from. Icebreaker chalets staff will be able to point you in the right direction to find what you are looking for.
The centre of Les Coches is a hive of activity. With three bars and four restaurants there is plenty for everyone. From beautiful modern French Savoyard food at Le Monchu to beautifully crafted pizzas at L'Origan you will find something for everyone.

After exploring the 261 pistes in Paradiski you have a long list of activities you can take part in. Evolution 2 the adventure specialists offer everything from paragliding to dog sledding through the forests.
The small resort of Les Coches organises weekly events to help show guests whats on offer in the local area with small market stalls selling local cheeses and sausages.

Fantastic Chalet experience
Between the excellent chalet amenities and the amazing food on offer, we were well looked after by John and the chalet staff at Chalet Castor.
The bedroom and group areas were comfortable and clean, and the hot tub and saunas were a welcome addition after a day on the slopes. The ability to ski-in/ski-out was the cherry on top!
Having a ski hire shop built into the chalets was a real bonus, but perhaps an option to provide measurements for equipment ahead of the trip would have helped with the fittings upon arrival and avoid adjustments.
All in all an amazing experience and look forward to returning soon!

Overall a good stay at Chalet Castor
All in all we enjoyed our stay at Chalet Castor.
Location is ideal - piste side and still able to ski in/out in early April. The chalet itself is much larger than the photo's let on. Good sized rooms and communal areas for group socialising.
Cleanliness was generally good although a few items from previous guest were found in our particular room. It was a big plus having the ski/boot service connected to the chalet which had a good selection of ski's available for all abilities. The hot tub was warm and clean. Chalet staff were good although perhaps not quite as engaging as others we have experienced. Food was of a good standard and the chef was able to accommodate those with alternative dietary needs. The inclusive wines were of a good standard too.
We probably wouldn't return to Les Coches itself - it's relatively quiet and limited in restaurants but does benefit from being very close to the Vanoise cable car to Les Arcs.
Over all a good week with fresh snow, rain and sunshine.
A good choice for large family groups. Cheers to John and his team for looking after us.
