We are very happy to offer weekend breaks during May & June and September & October – the perfect opportunity to gather your favourite people together and escape to the mountains for a few days.

Life gets busy, and finding time when everyone can be together isn't always easy. A weekend at The Barn is about slowing down, catching up and enjoying proper time together – long breakfasts, days out in the mountains, afternoons by the pool and evenings around the table with the people who matter most.

These are wonderful months to experience Samoëns, with beautiful mountain scenery, plenty to see and do and a completely different feel to the winter ski season. Whether you're celebrating something special, getting the family together or simply fancy a weekend away with friends, you don't always need a whole week to make some very special memories.

Bedroom 1: 2 single beds

Bedroom 1

Located on the ground floor, Bedroom 1 is a flexible twin or double room and can be made up as either two single beds or one super king-size bed.

The bedroom forms part of our downstairs suite and shares a shower room with Bedroom 2, making it a great arrangement for a family or friends travelling together.

Although part of the suite, Bedroom 1 is a completely separate bedroom, with its own entrance from the corridor, giving everyone their own private space.

Bedroom 2: 2 bunk beds

Bedroom 5

Located upstairs opposite Bedroom 4, Bedroom 5 completes our upstairs family suite and is a fun and comfortable bunk room.

The room has two full-length 2m bunk beds, making it just as suitable for teenagers and adults as it is for children – no squeezing grown-ups into children's beds!

Bedroom 5 shares the bath and shower room with Bedroom 4, making the two bedrooms a great arrangement for a family or group of friends who want to be together while still having separate sleeping spaces.

Bedroom 3: 2 single beds

Also located on the ground floor, next to Bedroom 1, Bedroom 2 is a cosy and flexible twin or double room and can be made up as either two small single beds or one king-size bed.

The bedroom forms part of our downstairs suite and shares a shower room with Bedroom 1, making the two rooms ideal for a family or friends who would like to be close together while still having their own space.

Although part of the suite, Bedroom 2 is a completely separate bedroom, with its own entrance from the corridor.

Bedroom 4: 2 single beds and ensuite bathroom

Bedroom 3

Located upstairs, Bedroom 3 is a charming and comfortable twin or double room, with a door opening directly onto the balcony – perfect for stepping outside and enjoying the fresh mountain air.

The bedroom has its own private en-suite shower room, and the beds can be made up as either two small single beds or one king-size bed, depending on your preference.

Bedroom 5: 2 single beds

Bedroom 4

Located upstairs, Bedroom 4 forms part of our second family suite and can be made up as either two small single beds or one king-size bed.

The bedroom is located next to the shared bathroom, which has both a bath and shower and is shared with Bedroom 5 – a great arrangement for families or friends travelling together while still having their own separate bedrooms.

Although part of the suite, Bedroom 4 is a completely separate bedroom, giving everyone their own private space.

Bathroom 1: toilet and shower

Ground Floor Shower Room

Situated between Bedrooms 1 and 2, this shower room forms part of the downstairs suite and is conveniently located for guests staying in both bedrooms.

In keeping with the character of The Barn, the shower room combines natural travertine tiles, a stone washbasin and warm timber walls, creating a rustic yet luxurious Alpine feel.

It has a shower, WC and heated electric towel rail – perfect for warm towels after a day on the mountain.

Bedroom 3 En-Suite Shower Room

Located upstairs and accessed exclusively through Bedroom 3, this is a private en-suite shower room with plenty of character.

A striking granite stone wall and double stone washbasins give the room its Alpine feel, while the basins sit on a beautiful solid mahogany countertop reclaimed from an old school science laboratory – one of those slightly quirky details that makes The Barn a little different.

The room also has an electric heated towel rail, so warm towels are waiting after a shower – particularly welcome after a day on the mountain.

Combining natural stone, rich wood and individual touches, it's a bathroom that perfectly reflects the character of the rest of The Barn.

Upstairs Bath & Shower Room

Located upstairs, immediately next to Bedroom 4 and just a couple of paces from Bedroom 5, this bathroom forms part of our upstairs family suite and is shared exclusively by these two bedrooms.

Full of Alpine character, it combines natural travertine tiles, original timber beams and a stone washbasin, together with a bath, shower and screen and an electric heated towel rail.

And because we don't think bathrooms need to be too serious, you'll also find our skiing and snowboarding rubber ducks waiting for younger guests – although we've noticed the grown-ups rather like them too!

A few extra touches at The Barn

We want The Barn to be somewhere you enjoy spending time, not simply somewhere you come back to sleep. You'll find board games, casino equipment, UK TV, DVDs, Wi-Fi and plenty of little touches for evenings spent together. And when the competitive games night is over, there's our rather fabulous glitter ball and disco lights if you fancy turning the music up and having a bit of fun!

Throughout The Barn you'll also find some of the quirky touches we've collected over the years – from oversized vintage snowshoes and antler lighting to our James Bond-inspired pieces. We love mixing traditional Alpine character with things that make you smile.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes some extras you might not necessarily expect in a holiday property, including an Aarke sparkling-water maker and Nutribullet. There's a large dining table seating 10, so everyone can sit down together – something we think is an important part of a family or friends' holiday.

We provide Egyptian cotton bed linen, generous bath sheets, bathrobes, GHD hairdryers and Molton Brown toiletries, as well as a welcome hamper to get your holiday started. And there may even be a little homemade damson gin waiting for the grown-ups!

Outside, guests can enjoy our heated swimming pool from April to October, together with the terrace, courtyard and gardens. And at the end of the day, there's nothing quite like sinking into our outdoor Jacuzzi with a glass in hand and watching the sun set over Samoëns as the iconic Criou mountain turns pink – one of those little moments that never gets old.

In winter there is a heated ski and boot room with boot dryers, so you can start the next morning with warm, dry boots. During the summer months, this also provides secure storage for bikes.

Washing & drying
We know that children and mountain holidays can generate an impressive amount of washing! During the ski season we can offer a washing and drying service for children's clothing, and during the summer this service is available to all guests.
Your first wash is complimentary, with a small charge for any additional loads. We don't offer the service on the day before departure, so please contact us during your stay if you'd like to use it.

Other facilities

We have a number of shared facilities at Truemanalp, available to guests staying in The Barn and The Suite.

Our heated outdoor swimming pool is open approximately April to October, weather permitting. It has a sliding glass cover which helps extend the swimming season, although as the pool heating is partly sun dependent, opening dates and temperatures cannot be guaranteed. Around the pool you'll find decking and sun loungers – a lovely spot to spend a sunny afternoon.

Our courtyard is a relaxed, sociable area with table tennis, BBQ facilities and outdoor lounge seating. The Barn also has its own outdoor dining area, so there's plenty of opportunity for long lunches and summer evenings eating outside.

In the covered area of the courtyard you'll find our heated ski and boot room with boot dryers – particularly appreciated on cold winter mornings! In summer, this area also provides secure bike storage.

We also know that organising all the extras for a mountain holiday can sometimes feel like a holiday in itself! Having lived in Samoëns for over 20 years, we're happy to share our tried-and-tested local favourites and can help put you in touch with ski schools, ski and snowboard hire (conveniently located directly opposite us), Geneva Airport transfers and childcare.

We're also always happy to help with recommendations for restaurants, activities, beauty treatments, places to visit and those little local gems that you might not discover on your own.
