Do self-catering in style! A duplex apartment with 4 en-suite bedrooms in a quiet area of Morzine with easy access to all the Portes du Soleil ski area plus a fabulous open-plan living area.
Our apartment occupies the top two floors of Chalet Lucie, a detached chalet of only 3 apartments.
The top floor is a stunning open-plan living space of over 90 square metres, including a dining area for ten people, a fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, a large open-plan seating area with an open fire, a pool table and a desk. There is a toilet on this floor.
There are also two balconies on this top floor.

Our ground floor incorporates the entrance hall and four en-suite bedrooms, all over 14 square metres, one with a double bed and three with twin beds. One of the twin bedrooms has a bath with an overhead shower, the other three bedrooms have showers. All bedrooms have a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and a balcony.

There is space in two of the twin rooms for a fold-up bed (ideal for children/teenagers) thereby increasing the sleeping capacity to ten people. We also have two babies’ cots and high chairs available, plus a baby-gate for the staircase and a baby buggy, all at no extra cost – please inform us of your needs when booking.

There is a separate secure ski room for ski/snowboard storage with a heated boot rack and shelf space to store helmets, gloves etc. This room is ideal for bike storage in the summer.

There are two designated parking spaces: one in front of the garage doors, the other under the car port.

The apartment is let on a self-catering basis, from 4pm on arrival day. It is cleaned before each party arrives and again as they leave. We request the apartment is vacated by 10am on departure day. Bedding and towels are provided for the number of people booked. If the booking is for two weeks, bedding and towels will be changed after one week.

The apartment is strictly no smoking and pets are not allowed.

There is a key safe outside the front door to which clients have access so there is no need to collect keys from an office; keys are to be returned to the safe at the end of the holiday.

The apartment is ideal for winter and summer holidays - we stay there for 3 months each year and love it!

The skiing area is fantastic and massive - 650 kilometres spread over several different areas all linked together! We have owned the apartment since December 2010 and have never had a problem with a shortage of snow.

There is a free bus service winter and summer and the bus stop is 200 metres from the chalet. The winter bus service runs every half hour (every twenty minutes at peak times) until 7.30pm and is very convenient - we use the bus all the time even when we have driven to France. It is a brisk twenty minute walk into town.

We love Morzine in the summer - the town is transformed with flower displays everywhere. Cycling, downhill biking, golf, hiking, swimming, white water rafting, paragliding, walking, relaxing, or maybe a mixture of any of these!

About Morzine

Morzine is a alpine village with an typical Savoyard character, renowned for its easy access to the Portes du Soleil ski area. Located at an altitude of 1000 m, its woody, hilly environment contrasts with the sheer mountains that surround it.

There are several restaurants and cafes in the town offering everything from burgers and pizzas to local specialities like tartiflettes, raclettes, fondues and braserades, all of which can be enhanced by great Savoyard wines.

There are "cheap and cheerful" places and "top end" special occasion restaurants - we go to all of them! There are plenty of bars and restaurants offering live music.

Morzine is ideally located for access to the massive Portes Du Soleil ski area. The Morzine and Les Gets ski slopes are accessed by the Pleney lift in the centre of Morzine; this area alone has 120 km of pistes and 48 ski lifts - more than enough for many skiers and boarders to cope with in a week!

The Portes du Soleil area, accessed by the Super Morzine gondola in Morzine, includes Avoriaz, Chatel, Les Crosets, Champoussin and Champery and has 650 km of pistes offering skiers and boarders a phenomenal choice of on and off piste skiing covering all degrees of difficulty allowing all levels of skiers from beginners to experts to find their perfect slopes.

There is more to Morzine in the winter than skiing - there is the fantastic combination of alpine scenery and traditional atmosphere with a good range of other sporting activities and excursions for all ages like snowshoeing, ice-hockey (Morzine has its own hockey team Les Pingouins), horse-sleigh rides and ice-skating.

No visit to Morzine is complete without a visit to “L’alpage” to watch mountain cheese being made (free entrance).

Morzine in summer is beautiful with flower displays all over the town and a more relaxed, less frenetic pace to the winter - we love it!

Summer activities include road cycling, mountain biking, downhill biking, climbing, hiking and walking, fishing, canyoning, bird-watching, horse riding, tennis, golf and relaxing - or maybe a mix of all of them! There is a children's adventure park and sports centre with an outdoor water park and indoor pool.

Activities near Morzine

Thonon and Evian are 30 minutes away on the edge of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva), with beaches, swimming complexes, water front restaurants and town-centre shopping.

There are ferries from both these lovely towns to other towns on the lake, including:

Geneva with all its shops and interesting history
Lausanne with the olympic games museum (well worth a visit)
Montreux, famous for its summer music festival (fabulous!)
Yvoire, a medieval car-free village
