Breakfast – to set you up for the day – will include fresh juices, coffee, tea, and your choice of continental and cooked breakfast.

In winter, the returning skiers will enjoy freshly baked cakes and coffee / tea / hot chocolate to restock their energy stores in the late afternoon!

The evening meal! 4 courses plus coffee, using fresh local ingredients. Wine is complimentary – we serve local Valais wines which will pleasantly surprise most people, as the Swiss do not export them – they prefer to keep them to themselves! If you prefer a fine wine or champagne, we keep a selection in our cellar which you may order at cost. The dinner will be available for six nights per week to allow the hosts a well earned night off. We can recommend excellent village restaurants for you to try out.

Let us know if you have any special dietary needs and we will be pleased to cater accordingly.

About La Tzoumaz

The 4 Valleys area is one of the largest ski areas in Europe and offers fantastic skiing and boarding for all levels, from cruisey blues to nerve testing high mountain tours, all with stunning backdrops of Switzerland's mountain scenery. With 410 km of varied pistes there is more than enough skiing to keep you happy, whilst the off piste terrain is world famous as a free-riders heaven. The consistently good snow record and the availability of high altitude skiing has given the region a loyal following.

La Tzoumaz is ideally located within the Verbier sector – with a new (in 2007) gondola to whisk you to the Verbier/ Savoleyres slopes in just 8 minutes, and with local slopes which are quieter and enjoy the best snow and have fewer lift queues. There are a number of snowparks in the 4 Vallees, including one of Switzerland’s best nearby in La Chaux, famous for Verbier Ride event.

For the ultimate in adrenaline and escaping the crowds, heliskiing is permitted in Switzerland and we can arrange stunning days out in the backcountry, accompanied by a local guide; popular choices are the nearby glaciers of Petit Combin, Triente and Rosablanche.

Other activities to be enjoyed include tobogganing down the La Luge run – a superb 10km run from Savoleyres to La Tzoumaz – a must for the kids and great fun for adults alike – just give it a go! Increasingly popular on a day off or for non-skiers is snowshoeing: take your time to explore the beautiful mountains from a different perspective along 45km of marked snowshoe trails. The locals love it and we strongly recommend it as a way to absorb the environment and work some different muscles! We will also be pleased to arrange suitable itineraries for non-skiing family members – there are many activities which may be enjoyed and timed to coincide with a skiing partner’s day.

Summer in La Tzoumaz:

Mountain Biking: the local region is a true mountain biker’s (MTB) paradise, with vast terrain to suit everyone from expert off-roaders to novices. In a typical holiday you need never ride the same route twice, and can expect to encounter every trail type imaginable: from sweeping single tracks to high mountain traverses, from rock gardens to woodland trails.

Walking: The local Alpine hiking is stunning, whether you wish to challenge yourself and visit the network of high mountain refuges, or take it easy along the ancient irrigation channels (bisses) which cover the valleys.

Speciality: The beauty and tranquillity of the region in spring and autumn make it perfect for activities such as Painting, Creative Writing and Yoga. We are pleased to offer courses in these areas with comprehensive programmes including expert tuition and superb food and wine.

Sports weeks: For fitness enthusiasts, cyclists and triathletes, use the chalet as a base for an awesome week or two of altitude training to supercharge your fitness. The climate is perfect for training – sunny but not too hot, with the clear mountain air the Swiss Alps are famous for. Get in some serious hill work on your road bike, enjoy some fantastic trail runs and develop your swimming fitness in the local pool just a few minutes from the chalet.

Golf: there are several wonderful Alpine golf courses within an hour of the chalet. Just over the hill, in Verbier, is an 18-hole, par 69 course, with great views over Verbier and the local mountains. Across the Rhone valley in Crans Montana, is a Severiano Ballesteros course, the host of the Omega Masters and famous as perhaps the best Alpine golf course.
