About Nassfeld

Nassfeld Ski Arena is not only Carinthia's largest and most modern resort with a wide variety of activities but is also one of Austria's top ten ski destinations. Owing to its location right on the border with Italy, Nassfeld enjoys many hours of sunshine whilst also having an outstanding snow record. The Millennium Express, the longest gondola in the Alps takes just 22 minutes to transport you to an altitude of over 2,000m giving you access to 110km of slopes, serviced by 30 state of the art lifts.

From the top, stunning views of both the Austrian and Italian Alps can be enjoyed as well a good selection of over 20 mountain bars and restaurants. The majority of skiing in Nassfeld very much favours the beginner and intermediate skier and it is a popular choice with families. The snow record is excellent owing to the resort's altitude and comprehensive snow canon coverage. The longest run, the Carnia is 7.6 km long and you can even try night skiing as part of the run is opened every Wednesday night making it the longest floodlit run in the Alps.

Boarders are well catered for. There is a new park with Black line kickers, Red line Kickers, rails and boxes. Come and see for your self! You'll never be short of untouched snow to enjoy and there is some good off piste skiing with the option to ski off piste into Italy. You can even stop off for a pizza while you're there!

Lake Weissensee, Europe's largest natural ice rink can be reached by bus and is just 30 minutes away. Here you can hire ice skates or, if you prefer, sit and watch the ice hockey games and speed skaters.

There are 55kms of winter walking trails in the area, mountain trails and plenty of cross country skiing trails. Hermagor, a charming traditional Austrian town, is just over five minutes from the resort and has plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy.

The resort also has an amazing range of alternative snow equipment which anyone can hire from the New Technology Centre (NTC) on the mountain at the mid-station. These include the Tube, Snowbike, Skifox, Airboard, Sled, Board Scooter, Carver or Blades, no experience necessary!

Nassfeld in Summer:
Carinthia has all the right ingredients for the ultimate Alpine summer holiday - a warm summer climate, beautiful scenery, a friendly welcome and a fantastic range of activities for adrenaline seekers and nature lovers alike. Italy and Slovenia are also just a stone's throw away giving visitors the added bonus of exploring two other countries without having to travel too far afield.

The jewel in Carinthia's crown, Nassfeld, one of Austria's largest and most modern ski resorts is also proving to be a popular choice for summer holiday makers. In Nassfeld you will find Europe's longest gondola, the Millennium Express, transporting you to an attitude of 2000m from where you can experience breathtaking views of the Austrian and Italian Alps. From here you can access one of the many mountain trails or, alternatively, hop on the brand new 1920m summer toboggan run which will take you down the mountain at a more exhilarating speed!

Some of the exciting summer activities include:
- Mountain Roller: A grown-up toy with large balloon tyres - no path is too stoney and no hole to big!
- Stanley Rider: A street sledge with one front wheel and two rear wheels.
- Mountain Board: The snowboard feeling for the summer!
- River tubes.
- Mountain bikes

On the Flying Fox you can experience flying for 380m from tree to tree on 380m or try the Rock Labyrinth, an adventure course with rope bridges, rock climbing and a Tarzan swing.

There are numerous mountain bike trails for all levels of fitness and ability, hiking, climbing and Nordic walking, horse riding and even a Geo Trail to explore.

For those wishing a less active holiday, the warm crystal clear Lake Presseggersee, is the perfect place to unwind with its lovely public bathing area with boats and windsurfers for hire and sun loungers to relax.
