Apartment La Terrasse de Verchaix, is a 125m² modern spacious self-catering property situated just one hour by road from Geneva in the Grand Massif, 4th largest ski area in France, 265km of piste, with a sunny south facing balcony and stunning mountain views. Sleeping 10 in 4 bedrooms, all en-suite, our apartment features a spacious modern sunny south facing open plan living, kitchen and dining area, with large HD TV (smart TV) with free WiFi and a selection of board games.

Featuring a 7 seater outdoor hot tub, with bathrobes and slippers provided you will enjoy relaxing after a long day in the mountains.

Nearest ski lift Morillon, 2.5km, 5 mins drive, or take the free ski bus, and the lovely alpine village of Samoens, 5km, which link easily to Flaine and Les Carroz.

Room 1 is a spacious room with 2 single beds, which can be made up as a large double, and a French door leading out to a large north facing terrace. There is an en-suite bathroom with heated towel rail and a hairdryer is provided. The bedroom has a large chest of drawers, an open hanging space, extra blankets are provided and there is an electric radiator.

Room 2 is a double room with a double bed. There is an en-suite shower room with heated towel rail and a hairdryer is provided. The bedroom has a large chest of drawers, an open hanging space, extra blankets are provided and there is an electric radiator. With a view across the village to the Church, you will here the church bells sound hourly between 7am to 10pm.

The Grand Massif is an excellent ski area boasting 265km of piste, easily accessible from Morillon 2.5km to the free parking, or 5km to Samoens. It links together 5 resorts of Morillon, Samoens, Les Carroz, Flaine, and Sixt. There are many other ski resorts easily accessible within an hour of Samoens, for example the Portes du Soeil (Les Gets, Morzine) is only 40 minutes drive.

We bought the property in 2006 when it was an hotel with bar and restaurant. We transformed it into apartments in 2016. We have been resident in France since 2006 and live here all year round. In the summer rooms can be booked on a bed and breakfast basis.

The Grand Massif - Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt provide the authenticity, tranquillity and conviviality of genuine traditional villages which are inhabited year round. The villages, with their appealing charm, are the ideal starting points for long runs throughout the Grand Massif and its ski area, which has celebrated last winter its 30 years of being fully linked up.
The Grand Massif contains such hidden treasures as the legendary Cascade run, 14 km long and without a ski-lift in sight, in keeping with a desire to provide untracked slopes and backcountry skiing. The Gers bowl is another must; a vast challenging playground where the wilderness is left untainted by development. The highest point of the Grand Massif is 2500m at Flaine, the ski area has a fantastic snow record due to it's proximity to Mont Blanc. The 265km of piste is great for all levels, from tree lined skiing to off piste, and snowparks - something for everyone!
There are plenty of traditional bars for apres ski in the nearby towns and villages many of which are conveniently located close to the lift stations.

All linen is provided (towels and sheets) and the beds are made for your arrival.

Summer time the property is a bed and breakfast

If, on the day before arrival, any of the circumstances outlined below apply to your booked dates, and this results in your booking being cancelled, then you will be entitled to a 100% credit note to the value of your accommodation payments.


Valid circumstances covered by these Covid-19 cancellation terms are limited to:

  • official closure of the property due to Covid-19 restrictions
  • if the government of the country where the property is located, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or to the property, or imposes a mandatory quarantine on arrival
  • if the government of your country of departure, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or region where the property is located
  • if the government of your country of departure, advises against all non essential travel to the country or region where the property is located

All other reasons will not be considered a valid reason to utilise the Covid-19 cancellation terms, and the standard cancellation terms will apply. These include, but are not limited to:

  • an unwillingness to travel
  • an inability to travel due to medical reasons (including any related to Covid-19)
  • an inability to travel due to vaccination status
  • individual or household stay-at-home orders

These Covid-19 cancellation terms are valid up to the day before arrival. After this date there will be no refund or credit note should Covid-19 have an impact upon your booking.


Your country of departure will be determined by the address used at the time of booking and this address will apply to all parties on the booking.


It is your responsibility to comply with all relevant health and/or vaccination requirements in the countries you are travelling to and from.


Where a credit note is issued this will be valid for 12 months and can be used against a future booking in the property. The arrival date of the future booking must be within 15 months from your original arrival date.
