Stadl an der Mur itself has a charming atmosphere with traditional Austrian houses, hospitable locals and cozy restaurants.
The Murau ski region consists of 2 ski areas: Lachtal and Kreischberg with a total of 88 kilometers of slopes and 23 ski lifts. The Kreischberg & Lachtal ski area is particularly popular as a family ski area. The Turracher Höhe ski area offers 43 kilometers of slopes and, with an altitude of up to 2205 meters, is one of the most snow-sure ski areas.
