Chalet Milou is a modern traditionally built wooden alpine chalet with a large kitchen, open living area which offers underfloor heating, a wood burning fire, walk round balcony and large hot tub. Chalet Milou is offered as self-catered accommodation.
Chalet Milou is built to high standards ensuring warmth, comfort and relaxation to guests year round. Hi speed Wi-Fi, Satellite UK TV and French terrestrial TV - connections for your laptop to stream or play at your leisure. Morillon is a traditional French alpine village rather than a modern ski resort. Chalet Milou is 400 metres from the gondola ski lift in the centre of Morillon, and just 50 metres from the Ski Bus stop taking you to a choice of 2 other cable car stations (Samoens and Vercland just 1 km away); all lifts give rapid access to the vast Grand Massif ski area and Flaine. Morillon centre with its bars, restaurants and shops is a few hundred metres walk away, and the unrivalled facilities of beautiful and charming Samoens are just 1km away.
The main living area is on the first floor with a large modern well-equipped kitchen with full-height american fridge, huge freezer, gas hob and electric oven. The kitchen opens onto the dining room with its long 12-seater wooden table, which flows through to the sitting room with TV and wood burning stove. The generous wooden balcony surrounds the living area on 2 sides. Also on the 1st floor are bedrooms 4, 5 and 6, one double (or 2 twin beds if preferred) with a bathroom opposite with WC, sink and shower, with 2 further double/twin bedrooms each with large full ensuite bathrooms with full sized baths.
The second floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom is 25m2 and has a double bed, balcony and ensuite bathroom (bath, separate shower, WC and sink).
Bedroom 2 is a double/twin/2 x singles and is 20m2 in size. Bedroom 3 has 2 x single beds (which can be rearranged if required) and is 20m2. Bathroom 2 is located next to the rooms and offers a bath, separate shower, WC and sink.
The ground floor has the main entrance, heated boot rack, and shoe storage. Outside is a large private garden backing onto woods with a stone barbecue to enjoy alfresco dining on summer evenings.

Chalet Milou has a private Hot Tub on the balcony for guests' use. Skiing is excellent in the Grand Massif, the Morillon gondola lift is just a few hundred metres away, and the Ski bus stops 50 metres from our door.

About Morillon
Chalet Milou has the unrivalled parallel advantages of being n a quiet, rustic location and yet being only 400 metres from the centre of Morillon with its ski lift, cafes, bars, shops and restaurants. The ski bus is just 50 metres from the chalet – taking you to any of the 3 major ski lifts or to other local attractions such as Samoëns.

Morillon, just 50 minutes’ drive from Geneva, lies in the Haut-Giffre valley in France’s Haute Savoie region. It’s one of five interconnected resorts within the Grand Massif ski area. Flaine, the most well-known, is purpose-built up the mountain, with 1960s Bauhaus architecture by Marcel Breuer. Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval is quiet and pretty, Samoëns has many charming, quaint cafes and shops, Les Carroz is small and has some steep off-piste tree runs, and Morillon is central to it all. It’s a traditional village, with good nursery slopes and links to a huge ski area. It’s the affordable family-friendly option of the five.
Though the Grand Massif is France’s fourth-largest ski area, the Giffre is something of a forgotten valley, overlooked in favour of nearby Chamonix. It’s quiet but stunning, with dramatic limestone cliffs and the Fer à Cheval (horseshoe), a 700m semicircular wall of rock at the valley’s end, giving it a more dramatic appearance than other pretty Alpine resorts. The villages date back to at least 1144, when an abbey was built in Sixt, and retain their historic character, with lovely stone buildings.
Families will love it: it’s quiet, with lots of activities and beginners’ runs. Morillon has a children’s village for six-month to 10-year-olds, featuring sledge runs, an ice rink and free activities.
