Maison Agnes is a family owned business which operates in the French Ski resort of Les Angles, catering for both Winter & Summer activities plus a whole range of extra leisure activities available for families, couples or groups of friends. After retirement and needing a project, Mike & Jenny Rhodes decided to renovate an old property and barn in Les Angles.. Mike used his 50 years walking and climbing experience and gained qualifications as an International Mountain Leader and rock climbing instructor to be able to take out clients into the mountains.
Our accommodation is nestled on the edge of the mountain village of Les Angles high in the mountains of the Pyrenees. The views are spectacular from the lounge, bedrooms, courtyard terraces and gardens. The mountains and lake can be seen with ease from the garden which has been arranged for families to have their own area to eat, relax and just while away the hours. The accommodation is in an old stone built barn (circa 18th century) and has been tastefully renovated into two lovely gites. Side by side. French windows open out onto your own part of courtyard set with table and chairs for eating outside with 2 gas and 1 brick built BBQ's to choose from.
Maison Agnes Features:
Enter through the French windows into a comfortable sitting room with wooden beams and stone walling. There are two settees with a coffee table, side lamps on side tables, a TV (with English free view) with a DVD player and an assortment of DVD's. To the rear of the room is a dining area and kitchen containing a fridge, dishwasher and oven/hob plus a microwave. All the comforts of a home kitchen!.
Leading from the lounge is a wooden staircase with stone walling, at the top is the shower room and double bedroom with stunning views of the mountains and lake. Opposite is another bedroom with full sized bunks, wardrobe, drawers and seating, overhead bed lights and side lamp.
From here there is another staircase to a private mezzanine floor with a king sized bed and single bed which is normally tucked to the side. It is equipped with hanging space, a chest of drawers and side lamp on a bedside table.
Maison Betty Features:
Maison Betty is virtually a mirror image of Maison Agnes, you will find that the colour schemes are slightly different, but the layout and equipment are the same. Both have large dining tables that can be extended for big family meals although many people eat out in one of the many restaurants in the village, which is only five minutes walk away.
There are no bed settees in either of the gites as we find that our clients like to able to have bedrooms of there own, and therefore choose the time they go to bed. Every bed is provided with a freshly laundered mattress topper, pillows (with pillow protectors) and duvets. We understand that many of our clients will be flying and have limited space and therefore all of our bedding and towels are included in the price, however we do ask that they are not used on the beach or at the hot pools, as beach towels can be provided!
We also provide some baby care items such as travel cot, baby bath,high chair, some baby bedding and a sturdy baby carrier that can hold up to a four year old. These items should be booked in advance to ensure that they are available. We try to provide everything that you may need to make your holiday comfortable and as stress free as possible!
