The apartment is genuinely ski-in and ski-out, offering luxury accommodation for four people, a swimming pool, underground parking, wifi and amazing views to the north. Subject to a minimum stay of 7 nights, arrival could be arranged for any day of the week, helping with cheaper travel arrangements and avoiding Saturday transfer traffic.

The apartment is on the outskirts of the village, in a very quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of Arc 1800. Although the village is the liveliest of the Les Arcs destinations the St Bernard apartments are never troubled by the noise of late-night apres ski. Instead, the apartment offers an amazing view of the forest surrounding Les Arcs, the Tarentaise valley below and north to Mont Blanc.

A beautiful two bedroom apartment, offering a ski in & out location, swimming pool, private parking and wonderful views. The apartment is located in Chalet St. Bernard in Arc 1800, and is very comfortably furnished. It is ideal for a family of four, luxurious for a couple or can accommodate four adults without too much of a squeeze. The apartment is our family holiday property, so it is furnished to a higher standard than typical rental apartments. We offer a limited number of weeks for rental during winter and summer seasons.

To ski back to the apartment take the small ‘private’ piste from the Chantel nursery slopes which leads through the middle of the Alpage du Chantel development. It is possible to ski right to the entrance of the ski locker room in our residence. To ski from the apartment take the same ‘private’ piste down towards the centre of Arc 1800. The main lifts (Vagere and TransArc) are about one minute on skis or a board! Like most ski in/out property the convenience factor is less of a benefit for complete beginners, who typically will need tow or three days experience before they are able to ski to and from the apartment. The ski school meeting point in Arc 1800 is a short, but steep, walk down the piste. Alternatively there is a free resort shuttle bus which runs from Chantel to the resort centre every 20 minutes, or a pedestrian gondola which runs until late evening.

If you drive an EV, there are six 22kW chargers within three minutes walk of the apartment, operated by the Shell Recharge network. The reliability and availability of the chargers seems very good.

THE APARTMENT
Chalet St. Bernard is one of five apartment buildings in the Alpage du Chantel development at Arc 1800. This is located just above the centre of the village, on the Chantel nursery slopes (in the summer this is the resort’s golf course). The property development was undertaken by MGM, which is renowned for its high quality work in a number of French resorts. The apartment is 42m2 (plus balcony), with living room/kitchen area, Bedroom 1 (double bed), Bedroom 2 (bunk beds), bathroom and separate toilet. There is also a ski locker for guests to use, with the ski locker room just a few steps from the piste. Please note that we request guests do not smoke in the apartment, but instead take advantage of the tremendous views from the balcony if they want to have a cigarette!

The apartment is furnished to a high standard, and we have equipped it as a 4-bed rather than the 6-bed typical of most French apartments this size. It has the following features:
Fully equipped kitchen area with full-size hob, mini-oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, kettle, Nespresso coffee-machine, raclette grill, etc.
Both bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe space and come complete with linen & towels.
The living area has a large L-shaped sofa providing comfortable seating for four people. We provide TV with built-in DVD player and a media server which provides choice of hundreds of movies or TV series. The TV has the UK’s FreeSat service, providing the main UK TV and radio channels.
The bathroom has a full size bath, with integrated shower. Also includes a hairdryer.
There is a separate toilet, so no queues when the bathroom is occupied!
Free broadband internet with wifi.
Free underground garage with a reserved parking space.
The rental includes all towels and linens, plus end-of-stay cleaning.
Private locker in the ski-locker room for secure storage of skis, boards and boots, plus workbench for servicing skis and boards. This is just a few steps up to the piste.

About Arc 1800

Perfectly located in a quiet part of Arc 1800, Les Arcs. Offers true ski-in and ski-out convenience, located just off the main nursery slopes in the village with a two minute ski to the main lift. Wonderful views to Mt Blanc from the apartment and across the Tarentaise valley. The centre of Arc 1800, the most lively of the Les Arcs villages, is a short walk down the piste, a short ride in the pedestrian gondola or a 4 minute ride in the free resort shuttle bus. Just 50m away from the apartment building is a ski hire shop, restaurant and bar. The new Folie Douce apres-ski venue is walkable, although not so close that the apartment is affected by the revelry!

Les Arcs is located within driving distance of some more of the world’s greatest ski domains. If you have a car it’s very easy to take a day trip to places like Tignes, Val d’Isere, St Foy, La Rosiere, Courchevel, Meribel, Val Thorens, Valmorel or Pralognan. All these resorts, with their thousands of miles of pistes and endless off-piste opportunities are mostly about an hour’s drive.

There are plenty of travel options to get to Les Arcs, including direct rail services from London and Paris; four airports less than 2.5 hours drive; and a 9.5 hour drive from the Eurotunnel port at Calais.
