Chalet Jean is a family owned ski chalet located in the beautiful village of Grimentz, Switzerland. Chalet Jean offers spacious accommodation including five bedrooms, five bathrooms with showers (two are en-suites with showers and baths). Sleeping up to 12 across three floors, with outside terracing and balconies on all levels, steam room, boot room and stunning views. Chalet Jean is perfect to rent for both winter skiing and summer activities.

Chalet Jean is available self catered, however we have teamed up with a local company Valet d'Annivers. Valet d'Annivers has a delicious menu available of home cooked foods that can be delivered directly to you. Using their catering packages gives you many of the benefits of a fully catered chalet while still giving you extra flexibility you enjoy when you are self catered. Valet d'Annivers also provide a full range of concierge services along with providing babysitting / childcare, delivery of a weekly shop, organising your ski passes or arrange guided mountain walks.

Chalet Jean is part of the prestigious Les Flives development, finished entirely in old wood giving the traditional Swiss Chalet feel. The chalet is suitable for parties from as small as 2 up to 12 with living areas over three spacious floors. There are five bedrooms, 2 are en-suite and there are a further three separate bedrooms and bathrooms. There is a large living room with a fireplace, with double height ceilings in both the living and dining area which can seat 12. The living room has flat screen TV DVD and WiFi Internet connection.

In the garden, terrace and balconies, coffee tables and chairs are provided. On the master bedroom top floor balcony there are chairs and a coffee table. On the second floor terrace and balconies there is a cosy two seater chair, a bench, and an outside dining area which is under cover. On the first floor level there are two chairs, a bench and a casual table. In the summer there are various sun loungers.

The chalet has spectacular views over the snow-covered peaks, being an easy 10 minute stroll to the centre of the old village and chairlift. Alternatively there is a free regular ski bus directly to the village during the winter season.

Grimentz has the charm of a 15th century skiing village hosting a varied skiing area, but with a family atmosphere of bygone days and described by Where to Ski and Snowboard as "Europe's best kept secret" and an "undiscovered gem". Grimentz and neighbouring Zinal, St Luc and Vercorn are easily reached from Geneva in two hours. These resorts lie as the crow flies between Verbier and Zermatt deep in the Swiss Alps and yet remain largely undiscovered.
Grimentz is located in the french speaking part of Switzerland amidst picturesque scenery, beautiful countryside with easy access to the slopes. Skiing in Grimentz and the Val d' Anniviers region provides access to 220km of skiing with one ski pass, which caterers for skiing, snowboarding and touring for the beginner to the experienced off piste skier.

Grimentz is part of the Val d'Anniviers, which offers skiing in 4 distinct areas across 5 villages, all covered by one lift pass offering 220km of skiing. Grimentz has skiing to suit all standards, from family skiing and snow boarding but with plenty of off piste available for the more experienced. With several 4000 metre peaks within view, the landscape is spectacular. The skiing ranges from village height at 1500 metres, to almost 3000 metres with skiing in Grimentz mainly between 2100–to 2900 metres.

Many ski tourers visit Grimentz and the resort has a reputation for excellent off piste and touring terrain. With varied skiing from open pistes to woodland runs back to the village, from easy blues to the steep blacks, a snow park at 2500 m in Grimentz and one in Zinal which is popular for both skiing and snowboarding alike.

The resort has a cable car access to the Bendolla, where there is a large restaurant and creche. Snowmaking facilities to ensure good skiing and easy access throughout the season. The ski beginners area is at Bendolla together with the children skiing area and is an ideal meeting point.
Grimentz, Zinal, St Luc / Chandolin and Vercorin are all covered within the same lift pass and the villages connect with a free local bus service providing a fantastic mixture of varied skiing, ranging from the complete beginner to the very experienced, and is well known for its superb off-piste skiing and touring.

Summer in Grimentz:
Grimentz is part of the Val d'Anniviers and summer in the mountains is an unforgettable experience and once explored, provides an inevitable draw to the superb activities both in Grimentz and the surrounding region of Valais. Summer in the mountains begins in June and lasts into September with the Valais region known for over 300 days of sunshine. Families and children are well catered for with with a range of activities in the village and surrounding area.
Val d'Anniviers provides an exceptional place for a biking or hiking holiday with its stunning views and a network of paths and trials. During the summer season many of the cable cars and gondolas are still in operation along with the funicular at St Luc, an easier option to experience many of the stunning views across the top of the mountains. There are many lakes but of particular note is Lake Moiry which is a few minutes drive from Grimentz. The Lake Moiry is overshadowed by the Glacier de Moiry and Grand Cornier at 3,963m.

Walking provides exceptional views from the valley floor to a high level making this area one of the great alpine valleys for hiking. Mountain huts help to provide a welcome break as do the alpages where you can buy fresh cheese produced from the local cows.

Mountain Guides are available for both winter or summer if you wish to discover powder snow on the glacier or the edge of a crevasse. The guides are an excellent way of exploring parts of the mountain off the normal hiking trails. The Imperial crown of five 4000 metre peaks - Bishorn, Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Obergabelhorn, Dent Blanche provide a challenge from the easiest walk up the Bishorn to a more serious and technical challenge.
