Imagine.....the perfect ski and summer retreat in a perfectly stunning setting - Chalet La Cachette is a privately owned, luxuriously appointed ski and summer chalet nestling in a select spot on the south side of the spectacular Chamonix valley, in a Village of Coupeau, just five minutes from Les Houches.

Clients return to Chalet La Cachette year on year and enjoy everything on offer in the Chamonix area. The chalet boasts a fabulous patio hot tub with the most magnificent views of the Aiguille Du Midi & Mont Blanc Massif where you can soak your aching muscles after a day on the slopes, as well as a wonderful cedar sauna. There are an abundance of forest walks year-round right at the door step. It offers an ideal location during both winter and the summer seasons in Chamonix.

Lounge

A beautiful leather upholstered suite comfortably accommodates 8 people and creates a superb atmosphere with the benefits of a new cinema system including a plasma screen and DVD system with surround sound. There is an excellent choice of the latest DVDs and Music CDs. This area leads onto the external balcony, which boasts some of the most amazing views of the Mont Blanc Massif and leads to an open plan kitchen lounge area - all providing a warm and intimate atmosphere for guests.

Kitchen

The open plan kitchen has all modern facilities including state of the art oven and hob together with the top of the range dishwasher. This leads to the dining area where we have a beautiful handmade traditional French table which comfortably seats 8 people and will extend to accommodate a further 4 so 12 in total. The close proximity of the kitchen to the dining area creates an excellent atmosphere and unique dining experience.

The kitchen is ideally equipped for self-catering with an oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a N'espresso Machine with complimentary capsules, a steamer, and a toaster. Both lounge and kitchen areas have under floor heating.

Sleeping

The chalet sleeps up to 11 people in 2 double bedrooms and 2 double/twin bedrooms, one of which has an additional futon bed, sleeping maximum 3. There is a Sofa Bed for 2 further people in the living room.

Bedroom 1
The Master Bedroom has an en suite bath and shower facility together with double washbasins and is finished in traditional style. This room incorporates a kingsize bed and has a seating area with a Futon chair which of course can turn into a bed thus accommodates a further person. The room has access to the lower balcony with stunning views of the Mont Blanc Mountain and direct entry into the hot tub area.

Bedroom 2
Includes a balcony and is front facing with magnificent views of Mont Blanc Du Tacul, Aiguille de Midi and Le Dru. Equipped with a double, wardrobes, drawers, lockers, reading lamps and flat screen TV with Freeview.

The other two bedrooms can be used as 2 doubles or indeed with the interchangeable beds can be used as 4 singles. Both these rooms share a second bathroom with large power showers and a bathroom. All bedrooms have a CD Player and Radio for independent listening together with a hairdryer.

Hot Tub

There is an external terrace with a hot tub ideal for soaking aching limbs for up to 6 people. This has spectacular views of the whole Mont Blanc area including the Aguille du Midi, Mont Blanc de Tacul, Mont Blanc Maude, Mont Blanc summit and the Dome du Goutier.

Sauna

The lower floor incorporates a cedar sauna, which comfortably will seat 6 people and has a mega 8KW sauna heater.

Other facilities

Whilst the chalet is marketed as an un-catered chalet many people also do take it catered. Our philosophy is a little different and when people do want catering we bring in a chef for the week to carry out breakfast and evening meals. This facility is not like any normal chalet dining, and offers a Gourmet menu together with the most fabulous cuisine. This experience can be taken either on a weekly basis or if preferred just for a couple of days. In addition to this we do offer a range of excellent quality French Wines, which can be purchased from us at the Chalet. You will have a chance to sample some of these wines on a free of charge basis on your arrival.

We can arrange a transfer from Geneva on your behalf with a local specialist company, which has given us an excellent service over the years. We also have reliable ski guides and instructors, which we use year after year. For further information on any of these services please contact us and we can give you the individual information.

About Les Houches

The village of Les Houches offers a traditional Savoyard atmosphere very different to Chamonix. From Les Houches village there are stunning walks and mountain bike areas on both the north side and south side of Coupeau which probably has the best views of the Mont Blanc Massif. It is at Coupeau where one of our luxury chalets La Cachette is situated.

The World Cup Ski Circuit venue of Les Houches, which is one of the ski areas that make up the resorts of the Chamonix Valley. Under the fabulous panorama of the Mont-Blanc. Les Houches has 18 lifts and offers ideal ski-ing for intermediates, beginners and mixed ability groups. The pistes are mainly tree-lined which means you can ski here even if the weather closes in. A new modern lift system has been opened and this together with 86 snow cannons makes Les Houches an excellent location.

The Chalet is 10 mins drive from Chamonix which is in the Haute-Savoie region of France less than an hour from Geneva and dominated by Western Europe's highest peak, Mont Blanc. It is a cosmopolitan town with a wide international mix, sporting a real 'soul' and boasting 15,000 year-round residents. People have been coming here for well over a century. It is a true mountain mecca, with a huge summer climbing/walking clientele, as well as the winter skiers and boarders.

From the Chalet, you have access by car to La Flégère, Aiguille Du Midi, Les Grands Montets, Le Brevent and Les Houches ski resorts - all with good piste skiing and novice facilities. You also have access by car to Merlet Wild-Life Park, Mont-Blanc Forest, Chamonix Valley hiking and lakes, Chamonix Leisure Park, Paragliding Chamonix Valley and Mont-Blanc during the summer. Restaurant facilities are excellent at the Chalet location and lift passes can be purchased locally.

Venturing out to Chamonix also offers unparalleled mix of skiing terrain, from beginner, great intermediate skiing on easy slopes to extreme off piste skiing and always with incredible vistas. This is especially true to the holder of a Mont Blanc Valley Pass. This pass opens up the possibilities of the whole of the Mont Blanc Valley Region. From the Italian Ski team's practice site, Megeve, to the extreme skiing capital of Argentiere, all is accessible on a single pass. Chamonix is a real mountain town with brilliant apres nightlife - café culture, elegant bars, restaurants, clubs and wild, wild Discos.

Our rates are based on a 7-day weekly rental however, we can be flexible and will consider a min. 5 nights stay as long as this falls within our Saturday to Saturday check-in/check-out policy.

CONFIRMATION OF BOOKING

The Confirmation of Reservation requires to be completed by guest and a 30% deposit is required to be paid. No reservation will be treated as a confirmed reservation until this preliminary deposit has been paid. Your reservation will be confirmed upon our receipt of the preliminary deposit.

The balance of the hire charge is payable by guest in full eight weeks before the commencement of the hire. It is the guests' responsibility to ensure that the payment is made and received by us. If the payment is not received by us within eight weeks before the commencement of the hire, the reservation may be cancelled with deposit forfeited.

DAMAGE DEPOSIT

A damage deposit of €300.00 (by credit card) will be exchanged and payment is required prior to arrival and before keys are released to guests. The damage deposit is returned between 15 and 30 days after departure, net of such sums as may be required to make good any loss or damage occuring during your stay. If you fail to bring to our attention any damage you find at the Property within 24 hours of your arrival, it will be assumed that you were responsible for such damage.


CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation by you more than eight weeks before the commencement of the hire will entail the loss of the deposit. Cancellation less than eight weeks before the commencement of the hire gives rise to the loss of the deposit and your incurring the cancellation charges set out below :-

Six to four weeks before departure 50%
Four to two weeks before departure 75%
Two to zero weeks before departure 100% (i.e. full hire fee payable)

Cancellation by you is required to be in writing, including by e-mail.

Check in: After 16:00hrs
Check out: Before 10:00hrs

If, on the day before arrival, any of the circumstances outlined below apply to your booked dates, and this results in your booking being cancelled, then you will be entitled to a 100% refund of your accommodation payments.


Valid circumstances covered by these Covid-19 cancellation terms are limited to:

  • official closure of the property due to Covid-19 restrictions
  • if the government of the country where the property is located, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or to the property, or imposes a mandatory quarantine on arrival
  • if the government of your country of departure, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or region where the property is located
  • if the government of your country of departure, advises against all non essential travel to the country or region where the property is located

All other reasons will not be considered a valid reason to utilise the Covid-19 cancellation terms, and the standard cancellation terms will apply. These include, but are not limited to:

  • an unwillingness to travel
  • an inability to travel due to medical reasons (including any related to Covid-19)
  • an inability to travel due to vaccination status
  • individual or household stay-at-home orders

These Covid-19 cancellation terms are valid up to the day before arrival. After this date there will be no refund or credit note should Covid-19 have an impact upon your booking.


Your country of departure will be determined by the address used at the time of booking and this address will apply to all parties on the booking.


It is your responsibility to comply with all relevant health and/or vaccination requirements in the countries you are travelling to and from.
