Mariel is a spacious, luxury apartment in an enviable ski in / ski out position with 2 balconies offering all day sunshine and stunning views.
Mariel is situated on the first floor of the Balcons de Sainte Foy and has a large east-facing balcony offering views of the nursery slope, and a south-west facing balcony offering views of the Mont Pourri and Aiguille Rouge mountains.

It has a spacious 40m2 living area and 3 double/twin bedrooms, and 3 bath/shower rooms.

The 95m2 accommodation sleeping up to 6 comprises:

About Sainte Foy

Often referred to as the “best kept secret in the French Alps” and “the jewel in the crown” of the Tarentaise, Sainte Foy is where the local ski instructors choose to ski on their day off. Although it is smaller than its better known neighbours, it offers plenty of terrain for all ability levels and disciplines.

It has built up a cult following amongst off-piste skiers, boarders and telemarkers who revel in the extensive powder fields where it’s still possible to make fresh tracks days after a snowfall. It is equally popular with families and beginners as the wide, sunny, quiet pistes are ideal for those just getting acquainted with the joys of skiing or boarding.

Non-skiers will find plenty to enjoy too. There are well-marked trails for snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing or simply hiking which offer breath-taking views of the surrounding mountains. One of the best trails takes you to the picturesque, tranquil summer farming hamlet of Le Monal where you can picnic gazing at the glaciers of Mont Pourri across the valley. You could also choose to try your hand at dog-sledding with your own sled pulled by a team of huskies.

The less active can wile away the day soaking up the sun with a glass of wine or a beer on one of the mountain restaurant terraces, or be pampered at one of the two spas at Sainte Foy.

Sainte Foy certainly lives up to the old adage that the best things come in small packages.

Prices are per chalet per week on a self-catered basis. Our self-catered prices include: bed linen, towels and T-towels; beds made for your arrival; end-of-stay cleaning; firewood (if applicable).

It is also available on a catered basis.

If you choose to take a property on a fully catered basis this will include breakfast and après-ski tea and cakes every day, a 2-course children’s supper for those aged 12 and under, and a 3-course dinner for older children and adults, with wine and coffee on 6 nights.

As well as preparing and serving your meals, your chalet hosts will keep the chalet clean and tidy so that all you have to do is relax and enjoy your holiday. Your chalet hosts have a well-deserved day off each week when we ask you to help yourselves to breakfast and tea, and eat out at one of the many local restaurants in the evening.

Our chalet staff are all carefully chosen for their outgoing personalities, experience and maturity, but especially for their cooking skills so you can be assured of excellent service throughout your stay.

What you can expect: Breakfast is a generous buffet-style affair with orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, freshly baked croissants, bread, jams, tea, coffee or hot chocolate. When you return from skiing, tea will be laid out ready for you to help yourselves, including freshly baked cake or biscuits. An early two-course children’s supper can be served for younger children. Dinner will be 3 courses, including a starter, main course and dessert or a selection of local cheeses, served with our quality house wines, followed by coffee. We are happy to cater for vegetarians, and others with special dietary needs.

Pricing: the fully catered service costs €300 per person per week for adults and older children and €150 per child aged 3-12 per week. There is no charge for the under 3’s. At Christmas and New Year the prices are €350 and €175 respectively.

Tourist tax is charged at €1.00 per night per adult (18+)

If, on the day before arrival, any of the circumstances outlined below apply to your booked dates, and this results in your booking being cancelled, then you will be entitled to a 100% refund of your accommodation payments.

Valid circumstances covered by these Covid-19 cancellation terms are limited to:

  • official closure of the property due to Covid-19 restrictions
  • if the government of the country where the property is located, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or to the property, or imposes a mandatory quarantine on arrival
  • if the government of your country of departure, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or region where the property is located

All other reasons will not be considered a valid reason to utilise the Covid-19 cancellation terms, and the standard cancellation terms will apply. These include, but are not limited to:

  • if the government of your country of departure, advises against all non essential travel to the country or region where the property is located, or makes it mandatory to quarantine on return from the property
  • an unwillingness to travel
  • an inability to travel due to medical reasons (including any related to Covid-19)
  • individual or household stay-at-home orders

These Covid-19 cancellation terms are valid up to the day before arrival. After this date there will be no refund or credit note should Covid-19 have an impact upon your booking.

Your country of departure will be determined by the address used at the time of booking and this address will apply to all parties on the booking.
