Megeve Ski Holidays
Megeve is one of the most popular ski resorts in France. Set at the base of the Mont Blanc the ski resort consists of a beautiful chalet style village with spectacular scenery and excellent skiing. It is hard to believe that Megeve was the first purpose built ski resort in France. The original styling was adopted from St Moritz and by using mostly alpine and wooden chalets has produced a really charming and picturesque village.
Megeve ski resort is part of the much larger Domaine Evasion Mont Blanc which offers more that 400 km of pistes and links the resorts of Megeve, Saint Gervais, Saint Nicolas de Veroce, Les Contamines, Combloux, and La Giettaz.
There 3 main ski areas are Mont d’Arbois, Le Jaillet and Rochbrune and are three are very suitbale for beginners and intermediates. For beginners there is excellent tuition on offer in Megeve and plenty of easy slopes to start your skiing experience. A lot of the easy green and blue runs are located close to the town center which makes it very convenient for family ski holidays. For intermediates levesl skiers and boarders you can find plenty of challenging reds and trees runs in the area of Mont d’Arbois while for experts there is not storage of off piste and more steep runs around Mont Joux. There is also a snow board park, terrain park and plenty of free riding trails in this area. If you want to stretch yourself even further then Chamonix and Les Contamines are less than 30 minutes drive away and offer even more on and off piste fun.
