Why Book a Ski Holiday?
Ski holidays are incredibly well suited to families, especially if you’re looking to go away with children of varying ages. The most popular resorts have slopes for all skill levels, and if you or a family member is completely new to skiing, world class ski instructors are on hand to help them pick up a new lifelong skill.
A ski holiday really captures the true essence of winter, with the days spent enjoying the action-packed slopes, before retiring into an authentic and cosy ski chalet in front of a roaring log fire. Coupled with the stunning surrounding views of snowy topped mountains, it’s hard to rival the experience a ski holiday can offer.
As well as families, a ski holiday can also be a fantastic time for those who enjoy lively nightlife. Ski resorts are renowned for their parties, known as “après-ski”, where people can let their hair down and enjoy popular music and flowing drinks.
If you’re not the partying type, there’s always other evening activities happening such as quiz nights, live music and family orientated evenings. A lot of the larger resorts also offer babysitting services, crèches, and kids clubs, so you can enjoy an evening knowing that your children are in safe hands.
A ski holiday is also a great way to meet new people. Sharing a chalet is a popular accommodation option because it can significantly reduce costs, and spending time with likeminded skiers is a great way to spend an evening, especially when over a glass of locally sourced wine.
Most Popular Ski Holiday Destinations
You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding on where to go for your ski holiday. Europe has some of the best resorts in the world for both ski and après-ski, with hundreds of miles of ski routes catering to all ski levels.
Ski Holiday Accommodation
Most of the resorts have a wide range of accommodation options available, both catered and self-catered, allowing you to pick and choose the features that meet your needs and requirements.
Ski chalets are one of the most popular accommodation types when going on a ski holiday, thanks to their authentic, rustic and “home away from home” feel. Depending on the size of your party, you can also opt to share a chalet with other people, which can help reduce costs and allows you to meet and socialise with likeminded people.
Ski apartments are a good option for those who want more facilities, such as pools, spas, gyms and games rooms. There’s something for every budget, and while there are also traditional apartments, you’ll also find a wide choice of more modern, stylish options.
Ski hotels offer a more familiar holiday environment, again with all the facilities you’d typically expect, as well as restaurants, bars and often a concierge service too. They often have on-site kids clubs, ski schools and evening entertainment, making them ideal for small families and groups.
Whatever accommodation you decide on, allChalets.com allows you to book a wide range of properties direct with their owners.
