Ski Chalets
Ski chalets are the perfect choice when it comes to deciding on accommodation for your ski holiday. The cosy, home away from home feeling is hard to rival, especially when coupled with the sheer amount of choice available across all of the top ski locations.
If you’re travelling as a group or family, ski chalets provide ample communal space for you to unwind together in the evenings. The self-catered options are great for those with the culinary skills to make good use of the well-equipped kitchens, while the catered options are ideal for those who truly want to unwind and sample the best dishes a location has to offer.

Why Book a Ski Chalet?
Sitting down in a quintessential alpine home with the rest of your group is a great chance to unwind over a meal and catch up on everyone’s adventures from the day. A ski chalet offers much more privacy compared to other accommodation options, such as a hotel, and allows you to truly spend your time doing what you want.
You can book the entire chalet just for you and your group, soaking up the relaxing atmosphere and enjoying the common features such as hot tubs, log fires and steam rooms.
Even if you aren’t looking to book out an entire chalet, you’ll still be sharing with like minded skiers, and the friendly and helpful chalet crew will always ensure that everyone is comfortable and having a great time.
Ski chalets are great for families with children, featuring child friendly environments, cots, earlier mealtimes and simpler menus (should you choose catered). Some chalets even offer childcare, should you wish the enjoy a child free dinner during your time away.
Some of the things we love about staying in a chalet include:
- Rustic and authentic, with a home away from home feel
- Welcoming and accommodating chalet hosts
- Wide choice of catered and self-catered options, with fantastic food and wine
- Unbeatable locations, right by the slopes
- Log fires, steam rooms, hot tubs, and pools often available
- Increased privacy and a less formal setting than hotels
- The opportunity to share with like minded skiers and meet new people
What to Expect from a Ski Chalet Holiday
Chalet sizes range from 4 to 20+ people, and as mentioned you an choose to book out the entire chalet for your group/family, or share with like minded people. Booking out the entire chalet allows you the freedom to do what you want, with more flexible sleeping arrangements (though chalets will always have a maximum number).
Sharing a chalet is much more popular for smaller groups, perhaps just you, your partner and your children. This helps reduce costs, and you’ll often be sharing with other couples or small families for a unique but enjoyable holiday experience.
It can be daunting for some when they first arrive at a shared chalet, especially if it’s their first time, but it’s important to remember that you’re sharing a chalet with like-minded people who share you love of skiing. Many people end up making great friends over the course of the holiday, sharing stories over a dinner and glasses (or several) of wine.
Chalet hosts will always be on hand to help with every element of your holiday, and are experts in hospitality, the location and the food and wine it has to offer. They’ll even help keep the chalet clean and tidy, so you can truly relax (you’re on holiday, after all!)
